I get the feeling that must people prefer wood over fiberglass. Why?

I just went out and bought a ax for chopping wood. It has a hammer on
the other side.
I plan to high some tires with the hammer when not chopping wood...

I choose fiberglass over wood, just curious to why most of you prefer
wood

The first night I got it.... I came home. I have a heavy bag with a
really hard spot that hurts your hands and I have it marked with tape.
I thought 'hey, I can soften it up with the hammer end!'

one swing later and I had sand waterfall...

10 minutes and 100 feet of ducktape later things where all right. I
even taped some foam over the hard spot.

it is funny now, but I was pissed at the time...
